Megan Carter, Ph.D.

Oh, hey!

I have a meeting next week with my lovely academic adviser to discuss grad school.
I have personally always wanted to attain a masters degree but recently decided that
that would be far too weak in order to accomplish what i hope to accomplish in this lifetime which is work for myself doing research and teaching as a professor. She emailed me back with a very excited email and suggested I start doing undergrad research on my study abroad program next fall. The grand old news there is that the program with which I will be traveling requires that I research a particular subject and many of this program's students get accepted to graduate programs more easily because of this. I am required to write a paper that shall be 40-55(?) pages long; that's nothing compared to the dissertation I will be forced to write later. We shall see.
Know what? When I was a small child I had the pleasure of watching Finding Forrester(sp?), a film in which the main character is required to write a thesis of some sort and I thought that that was something everyone in college was required to do and I was terribly nervous. And now I am basically dooming myself to that. But I never want to leave school and this is a great way of doing that. : )

Another blog topic is on my mind, so stay tuned?

Love,
Megan.
